My name is Mahmoud Abuward , a medical doctor specialized in emergency medicine from Gaza. After years of working in hospitals, emergency departments, and field medical centers during the war, I witnessed the urgent need for stronger public health systems, crisis management, and global health leadership in conflict-affected areas.
My educational goal is to pursue a Master of Science in Global Health in Geneva in order to develop advanced knowledge in humanitarian health response, health policy, epidemiology, and healthcare system recovery. I believe this specialization is essential not only for my professional growth, but also for rebuilding and strengthening healthcare services in Gaza after the massive destruction caused by war.
Returning to Gaza with international academic experience and global health expertise would allow me to contribute to rebuilding medical institutions, improving emergency preparedness, supporting vulnerable communities, and training future healthcare workers. My long-term goal is to become part of a generation capable of restoring dignity, resilience, and sustainable healthcare for people affected by conflict and humanitarian crises.
My name is Nour Daabes, and I am from Gaza. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology. My graduation project focused on the use of beneficial bacteria as biofertilisers to support sustainable agriculture and improve plant growth.
I have been accepted into the Master of Science in Microbiology programme at the University of Geneva in Switzerland. This opportunity will allow me to deepen my knowledge of microbiology, strengthen my research and laboratory skills, and prepare for a career in scientific research.
My long-term goal is to become a scientist specialising in microbiology research, working in advanced laboratories and contributing to discoveries that improve public health and benefit both people and the environment. I also hope to use my knowledge to support communities facing difficult circumstances, create new opportunities for my community, and inspire future generations of students through science and education.
